Kareema has been suffering from age-related ailments for some time and she passed away today.

 

AR Rahman will perform the last rites of Kareema Begum this evening in Chennai. Condolences are poured in for AR Rahman on his loss. AR Rahman was raised by his mother when his father passed away at the age of 9 years. When Rahman was 23, the entire family took up Islam and they changed their names.
